12 am - called in to work to euthanize the beloved dog of a beloved member of staff.

8 am - call from family friend about a beloved dog with a plethora of comorbidities who is doing poorly

10 am - see family friend's beloved dog and discuss that with the addition of kidney failure on board, considerable concern for prognosis and quality of life. sent to emergency as they would like to try everything

12 pm - euthanize a beloved dog with a history of seizures and unexplained weight loss that is likely to be cancer. his behaviour makes him less amenable to aggressive therapy. the family is devastated.

1 pm - receive phone call from emergency that they have recommended not pursuing treatment for family friend's dog. a home euthanasia is arranged with me.

3 pm - paperwork for export of a pet to russia. as always, the clients are unprepared and the work is left to us.

5:30 pm - depart for home euthanasia

7:30 pm - depart from home euthanasia

7:45 pm - finish pending phone calls from work. ignore cytology results that i'm not sure what to make of
