Prompt: Doctor Who/Magic School Bus/Mary Poppins. The Doctor may be the last Time Lord but there are still at least two Time Ladies running about the Universe.
338 words
They meet - as always - at a little cafe with an excellent view; the Doctor, the Teacher, and the Nanny.
"You're late," was the prim, crisp comment that greeted the Doctor when he strolled up with his hair a mess and bow tie askew.
"Yes well, thwarting monsters and aliens and all that," he grins with all the gusto of a mildly chastised schoolboy while pulling her into a hug and kissing each cheek warmly, "And look at you! Mary Poppins! Practically perfect in every way, just as I remember!"
"I wish I could say the same for you," was the Nanny's fond, exasperated reply as she rummaged in her carpetbag.
The Teacher, with a conspiratorial smile and a twinkle in her eyes, only asked, "How many this time?"
"Three, give or take a few. Hullo, Valerie! No Liz?" The Doctor dispensed his hugs and kisses again, but this time they were returned with enthusiasm and much excited back-thumping.
"Better than we'd hoped for, eh Mary? Must have been on some pretty big adventures! But you better slow down, you young whippersnapper!" the Teacher said with a laugh, continuing with her energetic back-thumping until the Doctor coughed rather violently.
"You'll notice," he choked out between the wheezing, "that I'm still not a ginger. The unfairness of that always seems magnified when I see that lovely shade you're always sporting in person."
The Teacher only chuckled again, striking a pose to accentuate her hair. "I'd be happy to help you experiment with a bottle of hair dye," she offered with a wink, "It would make a most hair-raising field trip for my students!"
"Here we are," the Nanny turned to the Doctor once again, tape measure in hand this time, "Now let's see, taking into account that silly hair of yours... hmm, yes. I thought so."
"What?" the Doctor asked anxiously.
"Inadvisable fondness for kitschy hats," she sighed.
He snapped his fingers as if experiencing an epiphany. "I knew there was something I'd left in the Tardis!"
